My name is Gita and I am a certified yoga instructor.
Yoga with Children
I currently teach at a pre-school and enjoy giving weekly classes to toddlers. I also regularly teach K-12 children at Yoga Bharati. Kids worry. Whether it is fear of the dark, making new friends, or studying for an exam. However it is important for children to take some time to breath and learn to let things go. Yoga can facilitate this important life lesson for your children. I have over a decade experience teaching pre-school, and two years of experience teaching yoga to children of all ages (toddler to late teens). I also have special training in teaching yoga to children with ADHD and children with physical disabilities.
Yoga With Seniors
Yoga is not just for those young of age, but also those young at heart. I have been teaching yoga to senior citizens for two years. About 90% of the class is done sitting in a chair, and there is the option to do 100% of the class while seated. Chair yoga can be for the elderly in terms of minimizing stress, boosting mental clarity, managing pain brought on by aging or illness, enhancing flexibility, and being happy. In my senior citizen group yoga class I cover basic yoga poses and breathing exercises. I also pay individual attention to each senior citizen giving consideration to each person’s specific health concerns including: chronic pain, spinal joint issues, knee replacements, heart conditions, breathing problems, autoimmune disorders, and cancer.
Yoga for Everyone
I enjoy teaching yoga to everyone. It does not matter how young or old you are. It does not matter how much time you have, or do not have. I use Sanskrit terminology, and translate all terms to English. I can teach at a rapid fast pace similar to a cardio workout, and I can teach at a slow pace intended to stretch your muscles and control your. I teach group classes, individual classes, and am available for consulting.
